Are You Capitalizing on all of the Opportunities?

Many times in our career we may be presented with an opportunity, even though it may not look like one to us. People often view opportunities as another “thing to do.”
For example, let’s say your supervisor asked you to get a new certification. You might think to yourself, oh great now I have to study and take another test, that’s the last thing I want to do right now. Instead of looking at it as a great opportunity to gain a new certification and set yourself apart from others in your company and in your field!
I challenge you to start looking for the opportunities that may be passing you by. When you get into a mindset of “why me” or “this always happens to me” take a step back and look for the opportunity in the situation. Think about where the potential benefits are in this situation whether it is for you, your career, your company, your staff, your family, friends, etc.
The “why me” mindset or thoughts of conflict and anger often inhibit people’s potential for success. By choosing an opportunistic outlook, you will start recognizing and capitalizing on many more opportunities and your potential for success will increase dramatically. Start recognizing and capitalizing today!
